Veros COVID-19 is a single-use (disposable) device that performs a rapid nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA. Veros COVID-19 uses a proprietary nucleic acid amplification technology that performs a polymerase chain reaction without the prolonged temperature cycling used in traditional RT-PCR.

Unlike conventional PCR and common isothermal technologies such as LAMP, Sense’s method has been developed specifically for use in a single-use (disposable) test device. Using an enzymatic process instead of temperature cycling, it is more rapid and doesn’t require such precise temperature control, permitting highly accurate testing to be performed without a complex laboratory instrument.
Veros COVID-19 is intended for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in nasal samples from symptomatic patients suspected of COVID-19 infection by qualified healthcare professionals, in near-patient settings.
